Welcome to Wonder Woman Wednesday! Every Wednesday we feature women who are using their business or work as a force for good. The intention behind this blog is to raise awareness on the impact of doing good and to inspire others to think of ways in which they too can use their business or work as a force for good. By doing this we hope we will be creating a better community one business at a time and leaving this world a little bit better than we found it for future generations.

Tell us about your business and how you use your work as a force for good?

My business is all about telling stories through film. Everyone has a story, every business has a founder who is passionate about their cause, my job is to find that reason and capture it on camera. By bringing the human interest element into marketing and spreading it on social media, clients are more inclined to choose that business. I also interview inspirational women around Perth who are doing great things for their community such as volunteering, starting NFP etc. Most of the time these women don’t have the money to use for marketing so, giving them a platform to tell their story through video is my way of helping them spread their message even further.

What led you to using your business as a force for good?

I’ve always been obsessed with people. My favourite thing to do is read biographies and watch documentaries. So, naturally, I chose to use my Journalism skills to seek out the most interesting people of Perth. A lot of people view journalism and the news as negative and depressing, so I wanted to help change that by spreading positive news.

What inspires you to make a difference in the lives of others?

My friend and I have recently started a giving back challenge where every Friday we try new good deeds. I think the act of giving is more rewarding than the act of receiving. We all have the ability to give whether its our time, money or skills. I love the satisfaction of helping others and if everyone knew the high that comes from helping others then there would be more people doing it. That’s why we created our Frideed vlogs, to show how fun giving back is to hopefully inspire others to do the same.

What is one act that anyone can do today to make this world a better place?

Give without expecting anything in return. Visit your family, friends, neighbours, your community. Leave a trail of love everywhere you go, whether it be flowers, cakes, something you’ve helped fix/create. It doesn’t cost a cent to be kind, start by giving away compliments.

The Power of Hope

We believe there’s no such thing as an ‘ordinary’ human.
We know inspiration is strong enough to move mountains and change pathways.
We embrace all the intricacies of life and honour the transformative potential of challenges.
True Life Stories connects hearts through the power of storytelling.

The concept was born with consideration for the next generation.

So, if you’re working with a school or organisation who’d like to join us correcting the imbalance of social media and regular news, we’d love to hear from you. You can also help us by getting behind the positive story movement by becoming a sponsor.
