Welcome to Wonder Woman Wednesday! Every Wednesday we feature women who are using their business or work as a force for good. The intention behind this blog is to raise awareness on the impact of doing good and to inspire others to think of ways in which they too can use their business or work as a force for good. By doing this we hope we will be creating a better community one business at a time and leaving this world a little bit better than we found it for future generations.
Tell us about your initiative and how you use your work as a force for good?
Am a Registered Nurse by trade and work as a Director of Clinical Governance. Am about to be an author with my book Ignite being launched on 06/06/19. Am the Founder of Make It Happen Initiative. Make It Happen is an NGO based in Kenya and the mission is to create a world where every child is raised in a family setting to ensure that they get the childhood they deserve. The family provides support, care, safety, a sense of belonging and above all love. At the end of the day we are here to love and be loved. Love sums it all. I use my work as a voice for the voiceless children to drive conversations on policies around children’s rights, protection and adoption through lobbying, research, advocacy and education.
What led you to using your work as a force for good?
You have to buy my book Ignite “ Blazing the Fire Inside of You” for the whole story. I was raised by parents who love children they haven’t given birth to as their own and for me child adoption is like taking a breath. I was also taught to whom much is given much is expected. Make It Happen was birthed as a necessity after witnessing so many women in need in Kenya using their children to get money on the streets, something that’s humbling and frustrating at the same time. Every child deserves a loving childhood that’s my why.
What inspires you to make a difference in the lives of others?
Everyone comes into the world to fulfil a purpose. We are all part of one big puzzle. Being a support system for me is second nature. I feel overwhelmingly blessed and the idea of sharing what I can with those in need is something that I am grateful to be able to do. Realising the dream of Make It Happen still confronts me and keeps me awake at night! Am inspired by the children who are so pure and innocent who are abused at the hands of the trusted adults who are meant to look after them and provide them with the basic human right to love. I’m inspired by love.
What is one act that anyone can do today to make this world a better place?
Be unapologetically you, authentic and just love. Imagine if we all were driven by love.

The Power of Hope
The concept was born with consideration for the next generation.
So, if you’re working with a school or organisation who’d like to join us correcting the imbalance of social media and regular news, we’d love to hear from you. You can also help us by getting behind the positive story movement by becoming a sponsor.
